Elshifa pharmaceutical plant was constructed in June 1995 in Khartoum north occupied an area of 29,000 sq.m. The plant was designed to meet the high international standard level of execution pharmaceutical plant in terms of building design, machineries and the environmental hygiene issues. The plant components were imported from the United States, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, India, and Thailand. The plant's initial capital was 20 million US $, it was consisted of three factories. Those factories produced medicine both for human and veterinary uses. The production started in 1997 . Elshifa pharmaceutical company is currently a commercial active company in marketing, distributing and selling drugs. An agreement has been made with a Jordanian Allied Co. for producing veterinary drugs. Another agreement has been also signed with a Jordanian Middle East Pharmaceutical Company for producing human drugs, both agreed to meet with Elshifa standard quality of its products and packing with Elshifa logo. El Shifa also has expanded commercially by having executive agents for many international companies around the world like Jordanian, Saudi and American companies.
